¡Self Portrait Ya Disponible!

Johnny Nasty Boots is a Los Angeles–based rock artist originally from Mexico City. His music blends the psychedelic and blues-driven spirit of the ’60s and ’70s with a modern, high-voltage rock ’n’ roll sound.
He made his debut with a self-titled album recorded at Sonic Ranch (TX), produced by Grammy-winner Yunuen Viveros and co-produced by Johnny himself. The single Deadline became Reactor 105.7 FM’s “Song of the Year,” earning him national recognition in Mexico’s rock scene.
Now based in L.A., Johnny has made waves performing across the city, including a slot in the Whisky A Go-Go’s 60th Anniversary alongside Strawberry Alarm Clock.
In 2024, he released Soho and Howlin’ and Dying — the latter winning Best Rock Song in America at the Intercontinental Music Awards 2025 — setting the stage for his EP Self Portrait. The record was recorded at Station House Studios with Grammy-winner Mark Rains (Marilyn Manson, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Tanya Tucker) and mixed by Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Chris Cornell, Arctic Monkeys), delivering a sound that is both raw and sonically ambitious.
Self Portrait is more than a collection of songs — it’s a snapshot of Johnny’s artistic evolution. On the EP, he sings, plays guitar, bass, and percussion, while also writing, arranging, and producing. The result is an unfiltered reflection of his journey between Mexico City and Los Angeles.
Each single has marked a milestone:
Soho entered Spotify’s Local Pulse Dallas chart at #8, proving that fuzzed-out rock still breaks through.
Howlin’ and Dying became a fan favorite and earned international recognition with its Intercontinental Music Award win.
Lovers (On the Road) caught the attention of Rolling Stone UK and led to Johnny’s first European tour alongside Woodstock legend and Mountain drummer Corky Laing.
For Your Love earned major editorial support, including placements on Amazon Music’s Rocking Alternative, and is backed by an official music video filmed at the Gibson Showroom, also featured on VEVO’s Incoming Rock.
The EP track Whiskey & Reefer Blues adds another highlight — a psychedelic, abstract section that became a studio playground where Johnny pushed experimentation to the limit.
After playing 40 shows across five countries on three continents, touring Europe, completing his first Japan tour, and opening for Pentagram at the Whisky A Go-Go — a strong follow-up to his 32-date U.S. tour as direct opener for Faster Pussycat — Johnny continued building global momentum. One of his live performances recently went viral on Instagram, surpassing 1.6 million views in days.He kicked off the year in Los Angeles sharing the stage with Witchcraft, building momentum for what would become his Real Rock Tour 2026, a 39-show European run across 14 countries during April and May. The first leg of the tour is part of Guitarlands, a heavyweight guitar showcase alongside Michael Angelo Batio, Vinnie Moore, and Rowan Robertson, while the second leg continues across Europe with stoner rock legends Nebula, further expanding Johnny Nasty Boots’ international reach and cementing his position as one of the most active and visible independent rock artists of his generation.
